Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is hale and hearty
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is healthy and has no health issues that would force him into hospitalisation. He is currently on leave but will be back soon. He has issued a statement to deny rumours that he is ill. His media adviser, Tunde Rahman, said he is a ‘healthy’ man who does not have any serious health issues and is able to carry out his duties in the best way possible.
Peter Obi, the candidate of the Labour Party, lied when he said that Asiwaju Bola Tinubul was ill and not fit to run for the presidency. Peter Obi is an incurable liar and has been caught red-handed lying to his party members. In a devious move, Peter Obi played the role of a medical doctor and claimed that Asiwaju Bola Tinus’ supporters were only backing him to make money.
Tinubu, who is 69 years old, had a strategic meeting in London yesterday. It was attended by his campaign planning team including Sen. Tokunbo Afikuyomi and Chief Pius Akinyelure, as well as a handful of progressive political gurus from the UK. The meeting’s goal was to take decisions regarding his presidential campaign. Tinubu’s aide said it was sad that perpetrators of evil were not deterred by the fact that every time they spread fake news, the truth would be out.
Tinubu’s wife, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, was at the event to welcome him home. Other guests included the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, and former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Idiat Adebule.
His health is a major factor in the presidential election
There is no doubt that Donald Trump has made his mark on the presidency, but what is he doing about it? He has been meeting with party stakeholders
President Buhari is hosting APC stakeholders at State House ahead of the party’s special convention on Monday. The APC president is expected to underline the need to come up with a consensus candidate before the convention. He is expected to be joined by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, National Assembly leaders and Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila.
Former aspirants had hoped that the meeting would take place as planned. They were confident that the meeting would produce a constructive outcome for them and would help them come up with viable strategies to support Tinubu. They would table demands and get the necessary concessions from him. They were also confident that their supporters would rally behind them.
The party has screened 23 aspirants for the primary election, and 19 of them come from the South. However, there are disagreements over the choice of a consensus candidate among the nine governors of the South. The party is expected to hold a third meeting before Saturday to resolve these differences.
Earlier, ten APC governors from the north called on President Buhari to nominate a southern candidate. The meeting was convened by former Governor Olusegun Osoba. Others attending the meeting include APC national leader Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Ekiti State governor Kayode Fayemi.
The NEC should have met before the issues were raised. It should have vetted the organogram and structure of the campaign council. The NEC should also harmonize the structure of the party’s national committees, state chapters, senatorial districts and wards. The NEC will also ensure that the manifesto of the candidate and the party is unified.
